How to extend the service life of the jaw plates of a jaw crusher:
A jaw crusher consists of two jaw plates: one is the fixed jaw plate (fixed jaw), vertically mounted on the front wall of the machine body, and the other is the moving jaw plate (moving jaw), positioned at an incline to form a crushing chamber that is wider at the top and narrower at the bottom with the fixed jaw. The moving jaw periodically reciprocates toward and away from the fixed jaw. When it moves away, material enters the crushing chamber, and finished product discharges from below. When it moves closer, the material between the two jaw plates is compressed, thereby achieving the purpose of crushing. Wear of the fixed and moving jaw plates can cause the crusher to malfunction and lose its crushing capability.
During the production process, crushers will inevitably suffer wear and tear. Such wear and tear can be reduced but is unavoidable. The wear and tear will shorten the lifespan of the machine. Before crushing the raw materials, they can be screened using a vibrating screen, and only the materials on the screen should be crushed. This often leads to good results.
Problems with the cheek plate of the jaw crusher: The contact between the cheek plate and the machine surface is not stable; the eccentric shaft rotates too fast, preventing the materials that have already been crushed from being discharged in time, resulting in blockage of the crushing chamber and wear of the cheek plate; the material properties have changed, but the crusher has not made timely adjustments; the angle between the movable cheek plate and the fixed cheek plate is too large, exceeding the normal range; the strength, wear resistance and impact resistance of the cheek plate are poor.
The methods to reduce wear and tear are:
1. The new rubber plates must be firmly fixed and in close contact with the surface of the machine.
2. The materials entering the jaw crusher need to be inspected. If there is a significant change in the nature of the materials, the parameters of the crusher should be promptly adjusted to match the incoming materials.
3. The base plate must be made of materials with high hardness, good wear resistance and strong impact resistance.
